1. Who we are
The European Care, Longevity & Innovation Hub (EUCLI) is an independent, volunteer-run initiative founded by Joanna Ata. EUCLI is responsible for the personal data described here (the "controller" under the EU General Data Protection Regulation, GDPR). For any privacy question or request, write to [email protected].
2. What we collect
- When you apply: your name, email address, organisation, job title, country and city, website and LinkedIn links, and your answers on the Join form.
- Your profile: what you choose to add, such as a photo, introduction, description, areas of focus, what you are looking for, languages and the organisations you belong to, together with your visibility choices.
- What you post and do: opportunities, resources, stories, events, benefits, mentoring offers and requests, responses to opportunities, items you save, files you upload, and messages you send through the contact and matchmaking forms.
- Emails: the emails we send you and whether they were delivered.
- Signing in and security: your password is stored only in encrypted (hashed) form, so no one can read it. We record sign-in attempts with the IP address for 30 days to stop break-in attempts, and keep a list of your signed-in devices (browser and IP address) until you sign out or remove them in Settings.
- How the portal is used: on which days you use the portal and which sections you open (for example Events or Resources). We look at this as totals, to understand what is useful to members. We do not record what you read or click within a page.
3. Why we use it
- To review your application and run your membership: your account, profile, posts and the features you use (necessary to provide the membership you asked for).
- To keep the portal safe: sign-in protection, review of submissions before they are published, and action when the Community Guidelines are broken (our legitimate interest).
- To improve the portal, using the usage totals above (our legitimate interest).
- To email you: messages about your account and your posts, and, if you keep them switched on, the weekly digest, the monthly newsletter and notifications. You can switch these off at any time in Settings.
- Google Analytics, only if you accept analytics cookies (your consent).
We never sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
4. Who can see it
Your profile is visible only to signed-in EUCLI members, following your visibility choices (for example, whether your city and links are shown). Approved posts are visible to members, with your name or your organisation's name. If a member shares a link to a post, anyone with the link can see its title and short summary. The EUCLI team can see everything in the portal in order to run it.
5. Services we use
- A2 Hosting hosts the portal and its database.
- Brevo sends our emails.
- Google Fonts provides the typeface, and OpenStreetMap and unpkg provide the map on the Ecosystem map view. Your browser connects to them directly, so they receive your IP address.
- Google Analytics, only if you accept analytics cookies.
Where a provider processes data outside the European Economic Area, we rely on the safeguards the GDPR requires, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
6. Cookies
- A sign-in cookie that keeps you logged in. It is necessary for the portal to work and ends when you sign out.
- A cookie that remembers when you close the dashboard announcement (kept for up to one year).
- Google Analytics cookies, only if you accept them. Your choice is kept in your browser, and you can change it at any time with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of the page.
7. How long we keep it
We keep your account and profile while you are a member. If you close your account in Settings, your login stops working and your profile leaves the directory; content you shared stays unless you ask us to remove it. To have your data deleted permanently, write to [email protected]. Sign-in attempts are deleted after 30 days and password links expire after one hour. Applications that were not approved are not yet deleted automatically: ask us and we will delete yours.
8. Your rights
You can ask to see the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, receive a copy, restrict or object to how we use it, and withdraw any consent you have given. Most of your profile you can change yourself in the portal. For anything else, write to [email protected]. We reply within one month. You can also complain to the data protection authority in your country.
9. Changes
If we change this notice, we update the date below. We will tell members about important changes.
